Game 1 of State of Origin
The first game of the State of Origin will be played this Wednesday 8 June at 8.10pm. We will be showing it at the club in the sports bar area.
Why not come down for one of Renee’s delicious Roasts on Wednesday night and stay to watch the game.
Wear the colours of the state you are supporting.
Pelican Waters Quality Meats
We are very pleased to let you know that Pelican Waters Quality Meats have come on board as a sponsor of the club. We are now purchasing meat vouchers for our raffle prizes from Pelican Waters Quality Meats and in return, they are going to support the club during the Winter Carnival.
Pelican Waters Quality Meats is located in the Pelican Waters Shopping Centre. We encourage you to visit Russell & Rhianna when you are looking for some great quality meat. Don’t forget to say you are from the Pelican Waters Bowls Club so they know our members are supporting them.
Congratulations to Barrie Lester
Barrie Lester is a friend of the club and we are very excited to update everyone that Barrie has been selected in the Australia Jackaroos lawn bowls team to compete at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. We want to wish Barrie all the very best and we are sure he will help bring home a few medals for the Jackaroos.
Video Helping Us Celebrate Our 40th
It has been brought to my attention that some members may have not seen the video of some friends of the club wishing us a Happy 40th Anniversary.
It is loaded up to Facebook. Click here if you would like to see it.
We are still looking for 1 or 2 people to volunteer to fill a vacant spot in the roster for helping to clean the club. If you are able to donate 1.5 – 2 hours once a month, please see Lloyd Hawkins for more information.
Are You Interested In Being On The Board In 2023?
As per the update given at the AGM, it seems there will be a number of vacancies on the Board in 2023. In order to maintain smooth operation of the club and enact a seamless transition, we are seeking early interest from people who maybe keen to take a position on the Board next year. If you are interested, please contact Tony Carter to discuss further.

Stay Hydrated and Reduce the Effects of the Sun
When eventually it stops raining and the sun comes back out, it is important to remember to remain well hydrated when playing bowls. Please drink plenty of water before you hop on the greens and drink plenty of water while playing. Also be sure to follow other measures to reduce the effects of the sun. Check the Club website for suggestions and more information.
Good bowling everyone
